Dear OFWs

Dear Overseas Filipino Workers who choose to stay abroad and raise your families in foreign land,
Greetings!
You're our unsung heroes because of the foreign remittances you sent at home. Your relatives and our country, the Philippines, have greatly benefited from the money you've sent. Without those hard currencies, our country could not remain afloat but sink in the sea of economic crisis.
This is just an appeal to all of you. Please teach your children to remain loyal to their mother toungue. Many of you I observe want to completely severe your roots to your children. Many of your children do not know your native language. Are you ashame to let them know of your language? Or do you believe that forgetting their own native language would open more opportunities for your children because they may become so conversant to foreign language like English, thus, they become more acceptible as the next OFW generation?
Please set aside this line of thinking because in the process you expose your own disloyalty to your own country. Remember we have a saying "those who did not turn back from where the come from cannot reach t their destination".
Your bad memories and experiences from our country may haunt you and make you forget your roots like your memory of corrupt public officials who are here. The beauty of our country and our language still remain forever. Is it not that your host country is loyal to its own language? Why you can't imitate the same.
This is just an appeal to all of you. If you find there's a sense in this suggestion, please do so.
Best regards to all of you.
