Fakery

          Majority of us hate fake attitude, fake friendship, fake love. every thing fake. We always love original, genuine, true, and pure. We disdain imitation and counterfeit. 

           This kind of ideal cannot withstand to the reality today--the world of counterfeit, cloning, and imitation. Original goods like dress, jeans, bags, watches and others are mercilessly copied and peddled in the streets or in any store. We're also guilty of buying them. They look even better than to the original. Nobody could detect what you're wearing is fake except if the one seeing it is really an expert.

           We also reason out that it's practical to utilize or patronize fake items. If they would not last, it's alright because they're priced cheap. If they're gone too soon it's natural because they're faked.

           Today, it's not only the goods or items that are copied. There are fake news,fake democracy, fake drugs, fake virus (Covid-19 is suspected as laboratory made and is fake), and lately, fake face.

           Body image can be altered today. They look so beautiful in their profile in the social media but beware--they're digitally manufactured or altered. Others have really underwent operation to change their sexuality, face, buttocks, and other body parts. Therefore the changes that these people are undergoing now are can be categorized as fakery.

          Face app is becoming a fad today. We really amuse how do we look if we're girl or boy, elderly, young and other face features. Face recognition and artificial intelligence in the computer can alter and predict how we look. They're not original but only making prediction and guessing and thereby can also be categorized as fake but still we love them.

           Fakery will go on as long as humanity exist. It will only be upgraded and improved. Who knows someday, you can have your duplicate, triplicates or more. Cloning is done now in animals and plants and soon to human. In all the fakery that we witness now in the world we hope that long lasting values like honesty and trustworthiness can still survive otherwise humanity is doomed to vanish in the face of the universe.

If You're Not Honest--Is that Alright?

      Honesty is in demand today. Billy Joel's song "Honesty' says it all. "If You search for tenderness. It isn't hard to find. You can have the love you need to live. But if you look for truthfulness you might just as well be blind. It always seems to be so hard to give.Honesty is such a lonely word."Everyone wants honest dealing with somebody else. But can we do  or reciprocate the same?

      Even the hoodlums, hustlers, and criminals want honest transactions at least for their own favor. They're ready to kill if they're shortchanged in the transaction. Word of honor is the name of the game. Those who violate it would suffer the consequence which is usually death.

      We can't imagine the world without the values of honesty. A husband may abandon the wife and children which is contrary to the promises he made in the altar of the church during the wedding day. Business would collapse if the label outside the products are not true. Government may be overthrown because instead of protecting and serving the people it is the government that violates the social contract.

         Honesty and trustworthiness are the true bulwarks of all relationships in the world whether it's political, business, family, love, religious and others. Without honesty, no genuine relationship or transaction would happen. So whatever our beliefs in political or religious persuasions what we all need is honestly otherwise the world would go berserk and we'll all stop to exist.

Hey I Want Your Time

         I observed, people always want to get your time and focus. They want that your attention is with them. They will request you of this or that and may emotionally blackmail if you fail to meet their expectation. They will always say that you do this or that in form of request, demand, command,etc.

          As long as you're productive people would always demand for your time. But wait, if you're sick, invalid, paralyzed and you have no use at all you'll be surprised people would start leaving you. They would pretend that they forgot you. They would say, they're so busy with their work or preoccupation.

        People are really like that. They really want to be the center of the universe. I was amused when I learned that some Japanese men who do not want women who are so demanding just prefer sex dolls as their partners at home. Some elderly people would prefer to have TVs and radios as their companions in their loneliness. It's because their children are not going home anymore because they have their own flat. If ever they visit their parents, it's so fleeting because they always catch with time. This situation is so ironic because when they were infants, they always wanted the time of their parents. As technology progresses. these old parents would only buy robot companions who have sensors to "feel" what these elderly parents have felt.

      Time is really so precious commodity that it's always associated with how dear other people to us. If you can give ample time to any person minus in the issue of money and work, that person is so dear to you.. Once gone, time can't be recovered anymore same with person who also gone because of neglect and inattention.

 Reflection During Pandemic

      This Covid 19 world pandemic has really changed the way we think of so many usual habits that we had used to. Before the pandemic, we had so many activities to do. We were in the rat race. We think that if we can do this or that then our life would be better. During the lock down where we were forced to stay at home, we found out that all those activities were no so essentials at all if not alright useless.

     When we were staying at home we found out that what essentials were only foods, sound mind, togetherness with families, gardening, deep reflections, communication with friends and flash backing in our memory lanes.All other things or activities which we considered as very important before the pandemic we discovered as not so important during the pandemic.

   The pandemic also brought the good and the bad in everyone. Many individuals out of their goodness had volunteered to become as front liners. Some gave their resources or facilitated in giving foods to others. Some had changed momentarily as good which later reverted to their natural bad character. They were the profiteers who were ready to gobble the money of their brothers who wanted to buy alcohol, medicines, and foods at prices beyond the normal ceiling even during the pandemic. Some postured as self-sacrificing patriots but in reality they wanted self-gratification in the guise of helping others.

      During the easing down of lock down, some world leaders tried to utilize their power to guide well their people. But there were also those who capitalized the pandemic to their selfish gains. In the Philippines, anti-terror bill was forced to be passed in Congress to further control the people who were already devastated by drug war, natural calamities, and Covid 19. In US, its president pretended that Covid was under control. Worst, the anger of the people had manifested in their anti-racial stand though rallies and riots with the death of George Floyd at the hands of white policemen. China was also busy selling their products like PPEs and other Covid related merchandise to earn profits. In Spratly, they further fortified with missiles  the islands they have occupied. In Brazil, President Jair Bolsonaro pretended that Covid was nothing than a small flu those he was against to lock down as it would cause hunger to marginalized people.So the deaths of Brazilians became  horrendous.  

      The above leaders were only some of the examples of people who really had shown their narcissistic tendency even during the pandemic. People would not really change easily from bad to good. Some would really stay bad to worse.

       This pandemic is can be seen from where you stand in your philosophical, political, religious, ethical, scientific points of view. If you're religious you may view it as plague of god or God. Plagues in world history had killed millions of people. Bible stories in the old testament are also filled with plagues sent by God to Israelites and other people who violated His will. If you're scientific in your thinking, you only view it as somewhat natural course of evolution especially that man becomes so numerous and intermingling now with animals. Naturally virus would mutate and jump from animals to man.

       This Covid 19 would really stay which until when we don't know. Later, we'll know it it's really man-made or laboratory produced as conspiracy theory is telling us.Nature  really knows best and ecology is balance. This virus is really the balancer and equalizer to all of us. Let's face it with good lessons in our mind. This is bad because many had died but it has also benefits which we can profit in the future.
